Selena Gomez, an actress and singer, is a household name internationally. One of the projects she's been a part of and which has the most popularity is the Disney series Wizards of Waverly Place. Selena Marie Gomez is her full name. She was born July 22 the 22nd of July, 1993 in Grand Prairie Texas. Amanda Cornett and Ricardo Gomez were her parents. Selena's mom was only 16 at the time Selena was born. As a 9-year-old Selena was able to make her first job in the world of showbiz when she played Gianna in Barney and her Friends. This was when she became one of the children who were the only anthropomorphic purple dinosaur in history. Selena was a part of several episodes of season 7 and 8 from 2001 and 2003. Selena wasn't the only actor to appear on Barney and his Friends during this period. Demi Loveto also worked with the show. Selena Gomez tried out for several roles after she left Barney and his Friends, but was not successful. Following the end of the show, Selena auditioned for roles in various other programs and films but wasn't very successful. The film also gave her the character in the role of Emily Grace Garcia in the 2007 Brain Zapped program for which she composed a tune.
